Cruz Cartagena was raised In Gary Indiana and
started playing Bass while in high school.
Self taught, he learned "Ball Of Confusion" by the
Temptations as his first song and from there he began learning Bass lines from
Motown to Rock. He left Gary, IN
with the dream and passion for playing Bass and continued jamming with friends
he met along the way. He later
joined the Navy to serve his country and took his bass on deployments and
detachments, sitting in with stateside as well as local overseas bands just
for the fun of it. He kept his
dream alive by playing whenever time permitted. His Naval career ended in
2004, and in late 2007 he answered the call for an audition with ReZist but it wasn't until
January of 2008 that he was selected to become a member. Now he enjoys
cranking up his gear, getting his groove on and jammin with the band. Cruz'
favorite equipment is: Fender Jazz Bass, Music Man SABRE Bass, ACOUSTIC
Amps/Heads and PEAVY Combo.
